Even Muslims are caught
up in 2012 paranoia
Not content to leave 2012 prognostication and
paranoia to Westerners, a Muslim numerologist
has leapt full-force onto the 2012 bandwagon
with “evidence” that the Qur’an
predicts death and destruction in that same year.
Or something, anyway.
We’ve been hearing the 2012ers for years here in the West. “The Mayan calendar runs out in 2012!” “The Bible Code says the Earth will be destroyed by a comet in 2012!” “Nibiru, the dark planet, will appear in 2012, and cause a polar shift!” Etc. No, really. Lots and lots of etc.
This is a new one for me, and bizarre enough that it needs to be shared so come 2013, its author can join all the others hanging their heads in shame at their ridiculous predictions. I’m going to call it the “Ali Adams Qur’an Countdown Theory”.
Ali Adams has mimicked Western numerology, assigning values to characters in the Arabic alphabet (what he terms “primalogy”, because it uses prime numbers instead of sequential numbers).
He has also discovered that Sura 55, “Rahman”, or “Most Gracious” (or “The Merciful, per Adams’ Qur’an), includes the repetition of a specific verse 31 times.
The sura in question lists all of the wonderful things Allah is supposed to have done, such as creating date palms, and corn plants, and also “Jinns from fire free of smoke”; after each item, the question of which of these favors the reader would deny is posed. (Show me a “Jinn”, and then we’ll talk.)
Adams adds up the verse numbers to arrive at 1433:
31 repetitions of a verse at 13 16 18 21 23 25 28 30 32 34 36 38 40 42 45 47 49 51 53 55 57 59 61 63 65 67 69 71 73 75 77. Sum = 1433.
Since 1433 will be the Islamic year in 2012, this means to Adams that the sura is pointing to 2012. And the number of words coincides with the number of days in an Islamic year. Therefore, he reasons, each word must refer to a specific day within that year.
With me so far? It gets deeper.
The repeated verse contains four Arabic words. Therefore, the event which repeats 31 times will last 4 days.
What does Adams think will happen?
Well, he takes his 1433 a little farther to find out. The 1433rd letter, word, and verse of the entire Qur’an are chosen, along with the only verse with a “primalogy” value of 1433.
1433rd Letter hits at 2:24, But if you don’t do it, and you shall never do it, then beware The Fire for which Men and stones are its fuel; it is prepared for the unbelievers.
Adams interprets this as “meteorite showers”.
1433rd Word hits 2:86, These are they who buy the life of this world for the hereafter, so their chastisement shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.
Adams takes this to mean “unending punishment”.
1433rd Verse? 10:69, Say: Those who forge lies against Allah shall never succeed.
Adams says this means “against those who forge lies”.
“Primalogy” 1433 verse is 51:13, (It is) the day on which they shall be exposed to hellfire. Taste the fruit of your denial, this is what you took lightly (looked upon as false promise).
So, Adams would like us to believe that the
Qur’an predicts 31 four-day meteorite showers
hitting the Earth in 2012, along lines of latitude
corresponding to the verse numbers of the repeating
verse.
The first will come, Adams says, January 7, 2012 – January 10, 2012. The last? November 4 – 7, 2012. Well before the December 21, 2012 due date so popular in the West.
Adams further believes that places of worship will be the undamaged, safe havens. Through the course of 2012, as mosques (and apparently churches and synagogues) are invariably untouched and all other sorts of structures are destroyed in the “unending punishment” of “hellfire”, people will realize that Allah is the one true and best imaginary friend, and that the Qur’an is his true final testament. They will then turn to Islam and worship him instead of the thousands of imaginary friends who came before.
Planning to mock Adams come January 8, when there has been no meteor shower? Nope, you’ll have to wait more than two more months for that. Adams extends his prediction:
The Islamic (Hijri) calendar was introduced 17 years after the migration (or Hijra) of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh+f) from Mecca to Medina to mark the Dawn of Islam on the Day of Migration.
However, the calendar when introduced made the 1st day of the 1st month of the Year of Migration its start day to stay synchronized with the then established Arabic calendar and therefore in effect was artificially backdated two lunar months and 7 days earlier than the actual Day of Migration of 0001-03-08AH. This therefore implies that the 31 events could start up to 67 days later.
To compound the calendar error, the Muslims used to add an extra 13th month every three years to keep the Islamic calendar synchronized with the seasons but after three such additions, God ordered them to stop doing so in Quran [9:36-37].
This therefore implies that the current Islamic calendar may be as late as 3 lunar months and the 31 events could start up to 89 days early.
That means a total error of -89 / +67 days and therefore the first event of latitude 13 could start as early as 2011-10-10 or as late as 2012-03-14 (p Day) and God knows best and controls all in real-time.
He’s thorough, I’ll give him that.
